|
Geneva Academy is a two-day-a-week academy that meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We are designed to work in partnership with Christian families and Churches to help with the educational needs of their children. Eastside Church of the Cross hosts the Academy which is a developing school of the National Association of University Model Schools (www.naums.net). |

Why are Courses Free?
We rely upon the goodness of our Lord to meet our needs, and we are stepping in faith toward Jesus in ministering as a school to Christian families.
It is our conviction that a Free Christian University for Kids is an act of service to the Body of Christ. We pray for the support of fellow workers as we rest in God.
The decision to be a free institution is a blessing from God. We were previously tuition based. The conviction to change came in the Summer of 2009 as many of us were reflecting upon Jesus. Our thoughts were shaped by the Gospel of John series being preached at Eastside Church of the Cross, and so we offer this school to God as a token of our gratitude for God being who he is in Jesus. |

We are a Christian school, and our teachers worship in a variety of churches. Many Christian churches are represented in our faculty and staff, but we do not propagate any denominational distinctives within the school. Our statement of faith is large enough to include a multitude of Bible believing congregations. Generally speaking, our teachers are practicing professionals in their fields of study. Because Geneva Academy is a University model, teachers are able to teach and maintain their regular career and the school coordinates with their work schedules. This gives us access to professionals who have been proven by industry, and they in-turn, are able to impart their applied academic knowledge to students. Likewise, because we are University model, students are able to study at their own level on a per-subject basis. A younger student may be advanced in math beyond conventional standards and be enrolled in a course normally reserved for older teens. In this way, grade-level is determined on a per subject basis for each child (dependent upon their skill, not their age). Geneva Academy is run by a board of directors where each member is personally interested in the success and integrity of Geneva Academy. We are a recognized non-profit organization registered with the state of Kansas. Our school has roots in the National Association of University Model Schools (NAUMS), and was designed and developed based upon their yearly meetings in Texas, and based upon member schools in the Kansas City area. Within this system, we have created our own unique model tailored to Miami county and the surrounding areas. Our value is our teachers. The level of education represented in our faculty is impressive in relation to our size—and we continue to add educators who hold bachelors and masters degrees in their content area. Their love for Jesus and passion to serve is what makes Geneva Academy Christian. |
